Hydroponic Drip Feed Systems

14 Sep 2012by

For those who have been to Lobitos, you know there isn´t too much water around! Combine that fact with the desire to landscape the WAVES land next to the school to make it greener and it becomes quite conundrum: until now!

First I must thank the original valiant efforts of Leah Donatiello and Axel Eaton who both dug and planted many endemic species around the WAVES land perimeter. Unfortunately our original system of watering by hand did not work as effectively as planned, but like any problem, there will be a solution: hydroponics Lobitos style

Along comes the great support from Ade of Teignbridge, UK Horticulture who listened to our predicament, shared his knowledge and donated to us some innovative  drip feeding tools for Lobitos.

With our Australian (Josh) and Kiwi (Dylan) volunteers, we tinkered/dug/glued and got very creative when finding solutions to putting the system together. After two days, everything is up and running and now we just have to source an automatic electrical timer that can do increments of a minute.
