First time surfing in Lobitos, Peru
26 Feb 2011by WAVES AlumniHey everybody reading this! Peru is awesome for surfing; the waves are superior for even begginers like me, as well as for experts out there who like ‘freestyling’.
The WAVES organization here is helping people in the community by teaching them how to make money through activities like surf board repair.
Surfing instructors that are actually really nice if you ever decide to learn with them. For me, when I was learning, I became friends with them. Because I learned so fast they invited me to their ‘casa’ (home). They take the time to instruct you to the extent that you can not fall off the board miserably as well as learn on your own. I like surfing a lot because it is the only sport I know of that I can bond so well with. It makes me feel at peace with myself when I can ride on this awesome power called the ocean.
Speaking about conserving vital materials and reducing plastic and other stuff to make all this sports gear, surfing can be just a simple piece of wood carved to resemble a board you can float on, and the best thing is that there is now renewal of the board, once you have it, it can last what seems like forever. Thats one of the reasons I love this sport. I hope to get my own surfboard so i can surf in America!
See you in the waves, George Loubimov.
