WAVES garners United Nations level support

Wilfried Lemke, UN Under-Secretary-General and Special Advisor to the UN office on Sport, Development and Peace (UNOSDP), has endorsed WAVES. We couldn’t be more pleased. As far as we know, we are the first surf-related nonprofit to achieve this endorsement through the letter of support by Mr. Lemke. What we do know for certain is that the application process is rigorous. They evaluate not only what’s been accomplished, but the direction the organization is going. While we have the advantage of our network spanning multiple countries, it doesn’t make the important work we’re doing any less easy!
Many thanks to the entire team in achieving such a grand honor – in particular Sylvain Gaeng, leading the efforts in Switzerland and Kike Basurto rallying the troops in Peru.
