Thanks, Gaston Acurio, you're the man!

If you don’t who Gaston Acurio is, now is a good time to find out. He’s arguably the best chef in Peru, an entrepreneur, a writer and a renowned advocate for Peruvian cuisine around the world. (Also organizing the Mistura in Peru, the largest Food Festival in Latin America). With over 30 restaurants in 12 countries, he’s got quite a good thing going. (I can attest, that every restaurant of his I’ve been to in Peru is top notch). A few years back I was fortunate enough to meet Gaston in Lobitos. He was doing a ‘tour de Ceviche’ or something similar, across Northern Peru (which I understand is now going global)… He wasn’t just a rice and beans kind of guy, he was very inquisitive about the environmental situation facing Lobitos then (and now). Intelligent chef and entrepreneur that cares about the environment – our kind of guy. Imagine how stoked we were to find out he drew attention to WAVES for his over 1 million+ followers on Facebook. Thanks, Gaston, we’d love to discuss sustainable surf tourism, community development and/or the current environmental situation in Lobitos more! Preferable over ceviche.

Gaston WAVES shout out
