Double Barrel: A Film Following Dreams for a Sustainable Surf Village in Lobitos

12 Jul 2014by

I met Angie on the beach in Lobitos with Harold. They were checking the surf. One of many times, I’m sure along the coast of Peru during their trip from Lima. Good vibes. I think we had just finished an activity with the local groms and a TV station highlighting the area. Ideas were exchanged, more introductions made and a good feeling was experienced. A few short weeks later and the Double Barrel film project took form! Check out the Kickstarter Campaign and support them if you can in the next few days:

Having been in touch with Harold since he came to Lobitos as WAVES’ first surf instructor during our pilot program in February of 2008, we’re stoked at the potential of this film & shared vision for sustainable surf tourism development in Lobitos. While the film will follow Harold’s personal story, we believe the more people that can unite behind the dream, the better. And we’re also excited to see Gary Parker, a WAVES alumni and founder of Sea Stoke, integrally involved as well. He’s a great guy and amazing photographer we’ve seen from the project’s imagery so far. Such a great opportunity for the local guys in the audiovisual space to learn and contribute. Suerte amigos!
