The Power of the Cupcake

31 Oct 2011by

Who doesn’t like a good cupcake?  Whether they are they are from Crumbs, filled, mini, whatever, they’re yummy.

Lately, some creative minds in the WAVES family have used the power of the cupcake to further the mission.  Here are two cases in on opposite sides of North America that have used cupcakes for good.

1) NYC Global Volunteering Fair.  Amazing people, WAVES-themed cupcakes and a beautifully painted surfboard attracted a record number of people visiting the WAVES table. Thanks Marieke Bianchi, Jen Gonzalez and Jean-Luc Robert!

2) Bake Sale at University of British Columbia.  TODAY, Oct 31st, in EME from 9-4 all proceeds from the bake sale will benefit WAVES the 2012 Environmental Education programs.  Can’t make it in person?  That’s okay, donate here and support Leah Donatiello’s campaign for an Environmental Education teacher in the school.  Thanks Leah!
