Small Business Development / Microcredit Update

04 Apr 2011by

Thanks to the generous support from Swiss donors, including WAVES alumni Claudia Gehriger, the small business development program has grown.  Based on information gathered through a community consultation and various conversations, a small business course was offered. It started in December and ended in early April.  The class consisted of four women attendees of which three completed the course.

Of those three, one woman – Marie del Pilar Pazos Eche or simply ‘Pilar’, received a loan for 1000 soles to upgrade and improve her small pharmacy based on the plans and work she completed as part of the Business Course with WAVES.  Irene Anton Periche, WAVES Associate Director of Administration, led the course.
